In Bihar and Jharkhand, the impact of Yas storm has started showing. Several districts, including Patna, have received rains and are cloudy. It is being told that the storm from the Bay of Bengal to Jharkhand will enter the southern and central part of the state on Wednesday. It will be seen more in these areas, however, the entire Bihar will be affected. The maximum impact of Yas in the state will be seen on 27th and 28th May. The effect of Yas was seen in the Santal-Kolanchal region of Jharkhand. There was rain in many places including Jamshedpur. An alert has also been issued here.
The effect was visible from Tuesday itself
Yas effect started appearing across the state from Tuesday afternoon. Khagadia, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Jamui, Nawada, Munger, Mokama and Supaul in Patna also received sporadic rains with light breeze. Other areas were also cloudy. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for every part of the state till May 30.
CM Nitish’s meeting regarding the storm
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held an online meeting with the Disaster Management Department, allied departments and all the District Magistrates on Tuesday regarding preparations in the wake of cyclone ‘Yas’ and directed everyone to take full precaution and be vigilant. In the meeting held at his residence, he said that according to the information the whole state will be affected by it and the concerned departments and officers should constantly monitor the situation and make necessary preparations accordingly.
The Chief Minister said that uninterrupted power supply should be ensured in all government and private hospitals so that patients do not face any problem. Also, keep an alternate system in place if power supply is interrupted. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Health-cum-Disaster Management Department, Supriya Amrit gave a detailed information about the ‘Yas’ cyclone received by the India Meteorological Department. He informed that there is a possibility of thunderstorms, storms, thunderstorms and rains in the state from 27 to 30 May, in view of this, all the district magistrates have been alert.

Energy, Agriculture, Health, Water Resources, Small Water Resources, Road Construction and Rural Works Department have been specifically asked to remain alert. He informed that teams of NDRF and SDRF are also on alert to deal with the disaster. Anand Kishore, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, and Sanjeev Hans, Secretary, Energy-cum-Water Resources Department, also gave detailed information about the preparations related to their departments.
Child dies after falling home in Khagaria
