The speed of corona in Maharashtra has decreased slightly but has not stopped. In view of this, restrictions like lockdown in the state have been extended for another 15 days. New guidelines will be issued on 1 June. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope gave this information on Friday.
The decision was taken at a meeting held on Thursday by the state government’s cabinet to further increase the restrictions imposed from mid-April. Talking to the media, Tope said, “As far as the lockdown is concerned, it has been extended for 15 days but guidelines related to it will be issued on June 1.”
He said that there will be no relaxation in those areas where the number of patients and the rate of infection is still high and there is a problem of getting beds in the hospital. Rajesh Tope said, “But in areas where the situation has improved, some guidelines may be issued regarding relaxation in restrictions.”
Asked whether shops selling non-essential items were allowed to open, he said all such decisions would be taken on June 1. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said on Thursday that the restrictions would continue after June 1 and would be relaxed in a phased manner later.
