West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that the state will have 12th class board examinations in the end of July and 10th class in mid-August. He said that the concerned boards will soon announce the dates of the examinations. The examination will be conducted for major subjects only. The examination will be of 90 minutes only and will be conducted in the students’ schools. Schools for other subjects will evaluate students on the basis of internal assessment.

The Chief Minister told reporters at the State Secretariat, “We have decided to conduct secondary and higher secondary examinations following all the rules related to Kovid-19”. He said that both the board exams would be for home centers (students’ school premises) and only for compulsory subjects. This year, West Bengal 12th Board Examination will cover 8.5 lakh students and 12 lakh students will appear in class 10th examination.

CBSE exams may be announced this week
Let us tell you that many state boards including Chhattisgarh have already announced their board exam dates. The final decision on the CBSE and UP board class 10th, 12th exam and Maharashtra board exam is expected this week. Board examinations in all states were postponed due to the Corona epidemic.
